2011 Television Install

Man decided he needed a new telie, digital, flat screen, BIG!  He purchased a 32 inch Vizio, model M320NV, 1080 p, 1.4 inches thick. Here it is laying on the bed, ya, you are looking at the back.  (This is actually the second telie Man has installed in Tana.  The first replacement/installation was done back in 2005, photo is down at the very end of this page, you can compare the installations and the telies that way.)

Here is part of the telescoping arm and support he used to install the telie.  This is a Video Secu TV wall mount, fits 32 to 55 inch televisions, purchased at Amazon.com.

Below:  He built this wooden framing which will go inside the telie hole in Tana, the telecoping metal arms bracket above will be attached to this.  Note:  It is laying on it's back, the lighter piece of wood to the left will be on the flat, the plywood stuff will be upright.  You'll see soon, in the next photo!

Getting it together, the wooden frame, the telescoping wall mount, all installed in the telie hole.  This hole originally accommodated a 27 inch tube telie from the factory.  Man had to cut the wall mount to fit in the opening.

Here you can see how that metal telescoping bracket slides in and out.  This photo does not show trim pieces on top and bottom of the opening that were added to fill in gaps.

Below:  these brackets with that hook thing at the top, they hook over the metal telescoping part, above.  Got that??

Here is the telie hanging on the metal sliding wall mount sticking out of the cabinet hole.  You can see the added trim in this photo, both on the top and the bottom (which was actually notched out to allow the telie to fit properly).  When all the measuring and tweaking was done Man added  velcro strips down both sides of the telie and the cabinetry.  The strips are the kind that have sticky on one side.  On the cabinetry Man also nailed the strips to make the strips just that more secure.

And, here it the full install, all ready to enjoy.  Popcorn anyone??

Wonder if that rug was worth anything???

Below:  Tana's second telie and shelf with dvd/vcr player.  Man used that shelf to make the trim pieces for the new Vizio install, wood grain and color matched quite well and since he could not keep the shelf for the new Vizio install, why not?  So, above, new, below, old.  Big difference.  Man can't wait to go on the road, so he can sit in Tana and enjoy the fruits of MANY hours of installation of his new digital toy.
